How I fell in love with Cinema
Everybody loves movies and even better getting some popcorn and snacks to watch a movie. I Always loved the experience of buying a ticket, getting your snacks and sitting down with anticipation till the movie comes up. the movies as a kid that made me fall in love with cinema was " The iron giant" to me it stood out to be an instant classic and if you haven't watched it I can't recommend it enough. Growing up I always loved Disney movies and I was surprised that this movie wasn't even associated with them however i was surprised that's some sequences in this movie were made for kids, but everything in the 90s was made completely different to where we are now. The iron giant made me look further into movies, the art style, the cinematography, the sound and atmosphere that would put the viewer in, and it's crazier to think that this movie was all animated in hand drawings, something in which today cinema you don't see at all because everything is done through computer. There this sequence in the movie that the main protagonist is played by a young kid, we see him roaming the forest at night and he comes across the robot for the first time, the forest is pitch black while the sky is blue, and through the darkness you see two eyes open up standing at the height of the tallest tree in the forest. This sequence stood up to me as a kid because I used to live around a forest and roamed around with my 2 siblings, this scene made me always question of "what would I do in that situation". I believe after this sequence it made me look into movies and put myself in the characters perspective. This movie influenced me as a young kid and made me question space and if is there more to just what we know. There's many more films that had made me look into movies completely different and I can't wait till I review them!
